THe pitch

Two jigsaw puzzles will be depicting the same image of a city, but from different timelines. One will be an ideal, utopic version that shows what the future could be like if mankind reduces carbon emissions. The other will be a dystopic version that illustrates a possible future where pollution is ignored. On the back of both puzzles, there will be a word written on each piece which players will then use to complete a short paragraph. The paragraph will be exactly the same, with the exception of the blanks players need to fill in.

Players will have to complete the jigsaw puzzle to be able to see the whole picture and finish the story. However, they will not be completing it like a regular jigsaw puzzle. They will be given two choices in 16 different questions and depending on their decision, they will get to take either a “good” piece or a “bad” piece to complete their puzzle with. Both puzzles are identical so the pieces will still fit together, although the finished product will not look right with good and bad pieces mixed together.

The questions players will need to answer can be found on Twine. They will receive pieces based on how they answer the questions. The questions will mostly be about their thoughts or habits involving pollution.

When players have completed their puzzle, the bad pieces will clearly stick out. They can then go back to the beginning of the game and play again to see which answer caused them to receive a bad piece. This way, they will know what actions need to be taken in order to avoid the bad ending.
